Provide Consultation and evaluation
- Meet with you to review your goals and establish time lines
- Draft project plan and estimate fees for services
Manage Downsizing, planning and design
- Visit current home and new home in the retirement community. Take furniture measurements and develop floor plans for furniture placement and prepare for space planning for new residence
- Work with you to determine how best to allocate your possessions in the new residence and assist with distribution of items that will not work in the new setting
- Arrange for appraisals, estate sales, auctions, liquidators, charity pickups as appropriate
- Assist with purchasing of items for the new home if needed
Implement Moving plan
- Assist with selecting an experienced reliable moving company
- Coordinate with Senior Placement advisor or retirement community new resident liaison to set schedules
- Organize the move, making it as stress-free as possible
- Sort, and pack belongings in preparation for transport to the new retirement community home
- Disconnect home electronics (TVs, stereos, clock radios, personal computers) assure all components are packaged and identified
- Identify, collect and arrange for disposal of household toxic chemicals
- Arrange for temporary placement of pets during the transition if necessary
- Supervise movers and coordinate placement of furniture on day of move
- Unpack belongings and organize the new home
- Reconnect home electronics, assure everything is operating properly
- Assist with preparing your home for sale
- Collaborate with realtor to guide you through the real estate transaction processes
- We can even help stage your old home for optimum resale value
